The exhaust system or ducting system usually consists of a catalytic converter, a particulate filter (GPF, OPF, DPF) and several mufflers. All of the above components significantly reduce the flow of exhaust gases from the engine to the tailpipe. The exhaust system is designed to reduce the number of bends and filters along this route as much as possible.
